Govt official caught accepting bribe in Ghazipur

SLEUTHS OF the Anti-Corruption Wing of the State Police nabbed a government supply officer red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 outside the godown of Regional Food Controller (RFC) in Saidpur area of Ghazipur district, on Tuesday.

Regional Food Controller (RFC) in Saidpur area of Ghazipur district, on Tuesday.

The arrested inspector has been identified as Bhanu Pratap Singh, posted at the office of the District Supply Officer in Ghazipur.

The complainant, Kamlesh Yadav, had supplied rice to the RFC godown recently.
He was to get his freight of trucks cleared. The inspector was supposed to forward the bill of the supplier.

He had asked for Rs 2,000 from the supplier for forwarding his bill.

The supplier lodged a complaint with the office of the DSP Anti-Corruption in Varanasi on Monday.

Taking action on a complaint, the deputy superintendant of police laid
trap in Saidpur on Tuesday and nabbed the corrupt official.
