Govt revises travel allowance

THE STATE Government has revised the rates of travel allowance for its officers and employees travelling on duty to the metros in the country.

THE STATE Government has revised the rates of travel allowance for its officers and employees travelling on duty to the metros in the country.

According to the new rates senior officers of the rank of secretary and above would be entitled for an allowance of Rs 3000 per day for visit to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kanpur and Pune.

Class I officers would get a daily allowance at the rate of Rs 2000 per day for visit to these cities while the class II officers would be entitled for a daily allowance of Rs 950 per day, class III employees Rs 400 and class IV employees Rs 200 per day for visit to these cities.

In its order the Finance department has said that senior officers up to the rank of secretary would be entitled for a local transport allowance of Rs 1000 per day in all the metros. Class I officers would be entitled for a transport allowance of Rs 500, class II Rs 300, class III Rs 200 and class IV employees Rs 100 per day.
