Govt to bring law to curb illegal construction soon

"The proposal is meant to regulate construction and sale of apartments, development and transaction of lands and development of colonies.

The Centre has said that it is working on a legislation to regulate and control illegal construction in the Capital.

"The proposal is meant to regulate construction and sale of apartments, development and transaction of lands and development of colonies.

"Apart from that, it will check the activities of promoters, builders and estate agents," Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

He also added that it was decided that such a legislation for Delhi would be considered after a model law to regulate and control the activities of builders and developers was prepared.
