Grenade thrown at medical store in Imphal

The police would investigate whether the incident is related to monetary demand made by some persons from the medical store.

Unidentified persons hurled a powerful grenade at a local medical store at the crowded Khwairamband market complex in Imphal West district of Manipur but it failed to explode, police said on Sunday.

The miscreants lobbed the grenade at Mahabir Pharmacy at around 6 pm on Saturday when the store was crowded with customers, the police said.

Bomb experts rushed to the spot and defused the grenade, the police said.

The police would investigate whether the incident was related to monetary demand made by some persons from the medical store.
