The women — all part of the Facebook group, Gurgaon Moms — assembled at a city hotel and conducted an auction of high-end fashion products and services to help raise funds for special children on Saturday evening.

More than 100 women from Gurgaon and Delhi took part in the event.

The auctioned products ranged from designer clothes and luxury services to fashion products.

The funds were later handed over to an NGO — Ashish Foundation — which works for differently-abled children.

Incidentally, December 15 coincided with the World Disability Week.

“This is our annual charity event. Last year, we had raised funds for Ada, an NGO working for the underprivileged children. This year, we decided to do it for Ashish Foundation as it was founded by one of our group members,” said Neela Kashyap, founder of Gurgaon Moms and the brainchild behind the event.

Besides, many women were also awarded the ‘Woman of Substance’ award.

One of them included Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) councillor Nisha Singh.

Every year, Gurgaon Moms get together to celebrate their success and felicitate members, who have contributed to the community by raising funds for a charitable cause.
