After offering to quit the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires in lieu of money, Darrell Hair now says he intends to continue his umpiring career and wants the governing body to conduct its hearing on the ball-tampering controversy as soon as possible.

The controversial Australian says his e-mail to ICC umpires and refrees manager Doug Cowie, in which he asked for 5,00,000 dollar to step down from the elite panel, was sent at a "difficult time" and he withdrew it within the next two days after giving a serious thought to matter.

"This correspondence (the e-mail) was composed at a very difficult time and was revoked by myself two days later after a period of serious consideration. There was no malicious intent behind this communication with the ICC," Hair said in his statement to the ICC after it went public with the e-mail.

The Aussie said he was hopping for a quick disposal of the issue and made it clear that he intended to carry on umpiring.
