Habib received a positive reply to his application and has already received his claim ID number.

"It goes through phases. If you don't get a response, it means you are disqualified. Now I am awaiting their fax after which I'll send the DVD's of the event's recording," Habib revealed.

He successfully coloured the hair of 113 women in 22 hours on August 14 - on the eve of India's Independence Day. He used colours like burgundy, chestnut and honey gold according to the skin tone of the clients.

"It is the first time in history that someone has attempted a record in the category of chemical colouring and it will now add a new category in the record book. I did everything from shampoo, colour, wash and blow dry, explained the hairstylist.

The creative entrepreneur, however, hopes to create many more records. He wants to do chemical hair colouring 10,000 feet above the earth's surface. He also hopes to do an underwater haircut in a minute.

For the underwater haircut, he is likely to choose a swimming pool of some five-star hotel. Habib said he would practice with a model before performing the actual stunt.

The expert further said that hair colouring is not as damaging as many people think it to be and said people should be bold enough to experiment with colours.

"The world is full of colours. Come out of the world of basic colours and play with new and exciting colours. Chemicals are safe if they are used properly with the help of a qualified person," said Habib.
