Kerala High Court on Monday confirmed the death sentence of a man accused in the murder of a six- member family at nearby Aluva on January 6, 2001.

Confirming the sentence passed by a special CBI court, the division bench comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Justice M Ramachandran held that it was among the "rarest of rare cases".

Antony had murdered the six member family of Augustine, his wife, two children and aged mother and sister.
Though there were no eyewitnesses to the crime, the sentence was confirmed based on circumstantial evidence.
