THE ALLAHABAD High Court has directed Station Superintendent of UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), Civil Lines, Allahabad, SP City, CO (Civil Lines) and CO (Traffic) to be personally present before the court on December 21 to explain violation of court’s order against parking of buses in front of the main gate of Civil Lines, bus stand.
Besides, the court also directed removal of traffic nuisance because of Leader Road Bus stand in front of Allahabad railway station.
These directives were passed by a division bench comprising Justice AK Yog and Justice SK Jain on a PIL (No-2547 of 2005) filed by Anand Mohan, a noted social activist of Allahabad.
Besides, the court also directed the Nagar Ayukta, Allahabad to appear before the court on December 21, to explain why contempt proceedings be not initiated against him for not removing the filth and garbage from roads and pavements as per the direction of the court.
The court passed this order when it found that despite its previous order, Nagar Ayukta, SN Srivastava was not present before the court nor any exemption was sought.
“It’s shocking. It appears that Nagar Ayukta is not interested in removing civic problem and failed to discharge his official obligation and duty to maintain civic amenities’’, the court observed.

{{/usCountry}}In addition to it, the court directed the ADA, Nagar Nigam and PWD to get the ‘road construction work’ completed in the city of Allahabad as per the earlier order of the court. Priority shall be given to the roads — Clive Road, Drummond Road, Road in Naini Maraka Road, Patrika Marg, road connecting Audckland Road and Muir Road, Hasimpur Road — its sub-lanes going to Tagore Town and Minto Road left out portion.
The court has also directed the Commissioner, Trade Tax, UP, Lucknow to find out an alternative site for Trade Tax office at Civil Lines crossing as this office is creating traffic hazard and public nuisance near Subhash Chowk.
