Leading home loan provider HDFC on Friday announced a 33% growth in its profit at Rs 891 crore in the quarter-ended December 2010 over the corresponding quarter last year on the back of a strong Rs 167-crore profit booked on sale of investments.

The company also saw its income rise by 16% at Rs 3,149 crore during the quarter as a result of growth in disbursements. The incomes from operations stood at Rs 2,705 crore in the quarter ended December 2009.
The company’s net profit witnessed a thrust as a result of treasury profits.
