A resident of Avantika in Ghaziabad, Dravyansh scored 98.6% in all five subjects including functional English (96), physics (98), chemistry (100), mathematics (99) and informatics practice (100) — the highest in the country.

A student of Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad (Meerut Road), he also came first in the national capital region in Class 10 boards with an aggregate of 98.6% two years ago.

Sharma’s parents say he is a bookworm. “He studied six-seven hours a day and came out winning. He made us proud. We told him to take up coaching for a few subjects, but he relied on self-study,” said his father Dharamveer Sharma, who works as a civil engineer with Agra Development Authority.

Dravyansh now aims to pursue electronics engineering from IIT-Delhi. “I never dreamt of topping the CBSE results. I am happy and my parents are surprised after the results,” Dravyansh said.

His school principal, Rita Kapoor was ecstatic with his result. “He has made Ghaziabad and our school proud by his achievements. We provided him right kind of environment in all academics and extra-curricular activities. He has made our city and our school proud by his achievement,” Kapoor said.
