"She sat on the mat with us and enquired about our six children, their schooling and how we earn our living", said the mother of the victim.

Bimal, the aunt of the victim, who was also present inside the house, told HT, "She was extra humble and enquired about our whereabouts at the time of the incident".

Her mother said "I told her that we(husband and wife) work as labours and were out on job when my second eldest daughter set herself afire, and my bed-ridden mother-in-law was present at the time of incident".

The victim's father said, "She consoled us, and assured us of compensation, police security, stringent action against the accused and had promised all possible help from the government's side".

The mother of the victim said, "We broke out in tears when she hugged me and my bed-ridden mother-in-law Dhanpati and we were carried away by her simplicity and healing touch".
