Hearing of Dera manager murder case adjourned

The hearing of the murder case of Dera Sacha Sauda manager Ranjit Singh has been adjourned till September 17.

The hearing of the murder case of Dera Sacha Sauda manager Ranjit Singh, in which the sect's chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is an accused, was adjourned till September 17 by a court in Ambala on Saturday.

Special CBI Judge R K Saini adjourned the case after five of the six accused - Krishan Lal, Jasbir Singh, Sabdil Singh, Inder Sain and
Avtar Singh appeared before the court.

However, the Dera chief did not come to the court as his appearance was not required.

Ranjit Singh was murdered in his native Khanpur Kaulian village in Kurukshetra district on July 10, 2002.

As many as six Dera followers were arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the murder.

About a month back, the CBI had filed the final chargesheet of the case in the court where it was alleged that Ranjit Singh was murdered on the direction of the Dera chief.

The Dera chief had already summoned by a CBI court to appear before it on August 31 in another murder case.
