The hearing on the doping case involving lifters Tejinder Singh and Edwin Raju was adjourned till Sunday after India put forth its arguments before the Court of Arbitration for Sports on Saturday.
With the two disgraced lifters having returned to India after failing the dope tests, Indian contingent's chef-de-mission HJ Dora represented the duo before three CAS judges.
Dora, who appeared along with a doctor, presented some documents to corroborate the Indian version of the events.
CAS Secretary General Matthieu Reeb said after hearing the preliminary arguments that the CAS had agreed to adjourn the hearing at the request of Indian authorities.
"They wanted more time to prepare their defence. There's still enough time for the panel to render a decision before tomrorow's closing ceremony," Reeb said.
Dora, when contacted, did not give any details about the meeting and only said that the arbitration officials would call him on Sunday to decide on subsequent action in the case.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Games Federation felt that the scandal had highlighted the need to put in place an accredited drug-testing laboratory in New Delhi, which would host the next edition of the quadrennial showpiece in 2010.
Fennel said the CGF was working with India to ensure that a fully accredited laboratory was put in place shortly.
"They've already started that process and they will have their laboratory. Their national doping control processes are very much in force," he said.
The CGF President said India's vastness and the huge one billion plus population made it susceptible to such incidents.
"It's a very large country, over a billion people, and obviously there will be people who are perhaps not as knowledgeable about the drug situation and the doping situation and there will be instances," he said.
Tejinder Singh and Raju had tested positive for steroid stanozonol at the mega event.
Tejinder pulled out of the 85-kg category competition at the last minute on Monday citing illness, while Raju finished fourth in the 56-kg category.
If the doping charges are proved, the Indian lifters face a life ban from the Indian Weightlifting Federation. The Federation also faces a four-year ban from international weightlifting competitions as per International Weightlifting Federation rules.
Before the Commonwealth Games, woman lifter Shailaja Pujari tested positive for a banned substance at a training camp in Patiala last month.
