Gratitude is the attitude of a saint. It enables one to establish a relationship with God. We have to be thankful if God has given us devotion and a thirst for knowledge.

The Quran says, “It is He who has spread out the earth for his creatures/ Then which of the favours of the Lord will you deny?” In today’s harsh world, we have to be thankful for our sanity as well.

We should be grateful if we have a mentor. S/he deepens our faith and motivates us to grow spiritually. We should thank our parents for educating us and teaching us how to function in this world.

We are blessed if we have a good job. We tend to think of the things we lack and complain about circumstances. Such an attitude is understandable at times, but should not become a habit.

Gratitude has to be cultivated and used whenever and wherever needed. Despite the many problems we face, we have to be thankful for being born as a human being.
