Lankesh, journalist, was shot dead on September 5, 2017 outside her house by a member of a gang that apparently planned to kill her after being inspired by a book brought out by right-wing group Sanatan Sanstha.

Koderma’s sub-divisional police officer, Rajendra Prasad, cited the investigation and said it suggested it was not a case of lynching over child lifting rumours as the family of the labourer, Sunil Yadav, has claimed.

Three killed as mud house collapses in Dumka receiving heavy rains

The deceased are Lakhua Murmu (40), his wife Lukhi Murmu (35) and Amdar Murmu, mother of Lukhi. Two minor sons of Lakhu Murmu, 10-year-old Rakesh and 4-year-old Mukesh survived as they were sleeping in a separate room.
