The current spell of heavy rainfall, while affecting routine life quite drastically, has managed to wipe off rain deficiency in Madhya Pradesh almost completely. As on Wednesday, the state faced only 4% rain paucity, which is as good as normal.
Madhya Pradesh has received 490.8mm of rainfall against the expected rain of 510mm till 8.30am on August 6. The 20 districts in eastern MP meteorological sub-division showed 5% deficiency, having received 533.8mm against the expected rain of 564.5mm. The deficiency in western MP (30 districts) was at a mere 2%. The sub-division received 457.3mm of rain against expected shows of 467.5% till Wednesday morning.
Overall, only 13 districts in the state are currently facing deficient situation, with Bhind district facing the biggest crunch of 36% followed by Dewas with deficiency of 34%. Seven districts are currently having excess rain situation, with Tikamgarh showing the highest excess of 50% followed by Burhanpur at 48%.

Bhopal and Indore comfortable
Both Bhopal and Indore are now facing comfortable rain situation, though they are still a little short of the normal mark. Bhopal, as on August 6, was facing shortfall of mere 3%. The district has received 516.5mm rain against the normal rain of 531.1mm. Indore is facing a 10% deficiency having received 406.2mm of rain against expected rain of 451.1mm.
