Heavy rains, low lying areas inundated

Twenty seven houses have been damaged and 390 partially following heavy rain lashing the city since the last two days. It was estimated that about 81 hectares of agriculture land worth Rs 32 lakh had been damaged due to the monsoon fury official sources told PTI.

About 60 km of road and 10 km of sea wall suffered damage. About Rs 20.49 lakh worth of electrical items including electric posts were damaged in the rains.

No loss of life was reported from anywhere in the city. Low lying areas were inundated.
