The facility will lessen the queue of patients at the 200-bed Civil Hospital, the only government hospital in the city.

Huda administrator Praveen Kumar inspected the building, situated in Sector 10, along with chief medical officer Praveen Garg and estate officer Narinder Singh on Thursday.

According to Dr Narveer Singh, director general (DG), health, the procedure to give green signal to the hospital was stuck at the finance secretary level in Chandigarh for weeks. "But now, I am hopeful that it may become operational by March," the DG told HT.

“It is going to be a super-specialty hospital, where all the facilities, including emergency services, will be available with adequate number of doctors and paramedical staff,” Dr Garg said.
