Baked in sand for about an hour, the corn is soft and juicy. Sold for Rs20 a stick, it is available throughout the year.

Sitting beside the famous Om Sweets, Raja keeps his offering stacked in a jute rack to keep it warm. In a year, Raja has formed quite a loyal customer base. But, if you are not aware, you might skip the delicacy.

"It is rare to find corn baked in sand. The method was used long back in the remote areas of Punjab. I often come here for snacks," said Harpreet Kaur of DLF Phase 2. She adds, "The corn is baked in sand with the peels intact to retain its flavour."

Raja comes all the way from Azadpur Mandi (from where he purchases corn). "I come from a village in UP. Initially, I used to sell sweet potato and ice-golas," he said.

"I have corn everyday from him. It's any day better than junk foods," said Arti Arora, a student.

When: From 4-8pm daily
Where: Sector 14 market
