If your cracked heels and rough ankles are forcing you to shy away from trendy sandals and hide your feet in those sweaty shoes even in summer heat, here’s some easy help.

Home remedies
Dip your feet in lukewarm water containing one teaspoon of dead sea salt, two drops each of lavender oil, peppermint oil and tea tree oil. It helps in wiping out deep-rooted impurities and also works as an antiseptic.

Put sandalwood or jasmine oil in water and boil it. Dip a towel in the water and wipe your feet. Repeat it, till hard part of heels become soft. It will not only moisturise your feet, but will also add glow.

Mix water and lemon juice (half a bowl each). Dip paper towel into the mixture and apply to your feet. It helps in obliterating odour from feet.

Before going to bed, massage your feet every day with coconut oil, as it provides a cooling effect. Always use a foot-cream at night. It is a must to keep your feet free from wrinkles and fine lines.

Sometimes knuckles of the toes get blackened or tanned. Sprinkle sugar on a lemon rind and rub it in a clockwise direction. The alkaline property of lemon, and glucose in sugar helps break the melanin, which results in lightening the complexion.

Pineapple pedicure is best in summers. Pineapple removes tan from the skin and helps remove dead skin, thereby making it softer, once massaged with sunscreen based moisturiser.
