“The three have confessed to their crime. We're trying to recover the body and the murder weapon,” said superintendent of police (SP) Anant Deo.

Police said Seema, son of Sanju Jatav, a labourer in village Nagla-Nagli under Sector 39 police station, was allegedly having an affair with a servant at a scrap dealer's shop. The three brothers, all in their mid-20s, reportedly confessed they killed her on the night of December 28-29 and threw the body in the Yamuna near Chhaprauli Mangrauli village.

The three brothers were identified as Subhash, a carpenter, Vikas, a driver, and Lalit, a mechanic. "We're still trying to ascertain the immediate cause behind the gruesome murder. We have gathered the youth's affair with the girl had been objected to by the brothers. The youth apparently distributed some objectionable pictures of the girl in the village. This enraged the brothers," said a police officer. "We also have information that they killed her on finding her with the youth," he said.
