WAS THE district administration cheated by the controversial Shankaracharya of Sharda Peeth Rajeshwaranand? This was the question doing the rounds here on Saturday. Rajeshwaranand was treated as a State guest by the district administration. But, when the administration was told that he was allegedly ‘fake’, officials rushed to the Circuit House. By then, he had left the place.

Sources said the district administration had received a fax message about his visit. It had provided facilities of a state guest to Rajeshwaranand accordingly.

His security was tightened. Later, however, the administration was informed that he was a fake.

When district magistrate Dr Hariom directed ADM, City, PK Agrawal to probe the matter, Rajeshwaranand had left the Circuit House.

Reports said Rajeshwaranand even contacted the district magistrate on the phone and thanked him for providing adequate security. Sources claimed details about Rajeshwaranand were issued by the State incharge of protocol and the district administration had followed the instructions.

Talking to mediapersons, Rajeshwaranand had said the present political scenario was about money, media and Muslims. Hindus had been sidelined, causing discontent among the majority community. He was on his way to Bihar. He also said religious leaders were emerging as a new power centre. He criticised former BJP chief LK Advani and said the party had come to power riding the Ram Mandir wave, but later Advani praised Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

He further said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had also disappointed the Hindu community by bowing his head at the Mazar of Mughal Emperor Babar in Kabul.

He further said Manmohan Singh seemed to have forgotten Prithivraj Chauhan.

Shiksha Mitras on war path: State president of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Sangh Ghazi Imam Aala said that around one lakh shiksha mitras across the state would stage dharna and demonstration in front of the Vidhan Bhawan in Lucknow on April 10 in support of their demands. He repeatedly said that the dharna would be historical and the shiksha mitras would not compromise on mere assurances.
