Hooda congratulates Suhag for bagging Sword of Honour

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has congratulated Siddhant Suhag, who bagged the coveted Sword of Honour during the passing out parade at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun on Saturday.

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has congratulated Siddhant Suhag, who bagged the coveted Sword of Honour during the passing out parade at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun on Saturday.

Siddhant Suhag, who hails from Bisahan village in Jhajjar district, had called on Hooda at his residence here on Sunday. Another cadet, Vikas Kumar of the same village won gold medal. Prateek Dhankhar of Rohtak bagged silver medal as a technical graduate.

Of the total 631 cadets 60 hailing from Haryana had passed out from the IMA.
Highlighting the state's contribution to defence forces, the chief minister expressed happiness and said: "Though Haryana is a small state, every tenth soldier of the defence forces hails from the state."

He said the state government had also organised awareness camps for providing guidance to those youth who were willing to serve the defence forces and added that Sainik School, Kunjpura had also contributed hundreds of officers to the defence forces.

He said 10% reservation had been made in group housing societies for serving soldiers and ex-servicemen. Besides, one per cent rebate in stamp duty was being given to them on purchase of house or plot.

He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had recently laid the foundation stone of first defence university of the country in Gurgaon.
