With this expansion, the total strength of the ministry has become 13.

Governor AR Kidwai administered the oath of office and secrecy to Harmohinder Singh Chatha, who was inducted into the Cabinet, and Kiran Chaudhary, Savitri Jindal and Meena Rani -- all Ministers of State.

Rani is MLA from Jundla reserve constituency in Karnal.

The Chief Minister, his ministerial colleagues and senior administration officials were present.

This was the first expansion of the Congress ministry in the state. The party had come to power in the Assembly polls in February last year, winning 67 of the 90 seats.
