The Supreme Court verdict in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case has come as a ray of hope for Hemraj's widow, Khumkala Banjade. She is hopeful her statement will be recorded in court.
In March this year, she filed an application before a Ghaziabad court alleging that Hemraj's employers - the girl's parents - killed her husband. She also held a press conference in Noida, in which she said she was convinced the Talwars killed her husband. She said Hemraj told her of threats from the Talwars.
"The Talwars had moved the apex court seeking a stay on criminal proceedings against them. Now that the court has allowed a trial, we are hopeful that Khumkala's statement will be recorded. She desperately wants to appear in court. I'm trying to get in touch with her in," said Naresh Yadav, Khumkala's lawyer, on Friday.
At the press conference, she had said, "My husband had told me that the Talwars had threatened to kill him if he revealed anything about the family. He had assured them that it was not in his habit to be disloyal to his masters."
"During his visit in 2007, my husband had told me that (Rajesh)Talwar was well connected and short tempered. The Talwars had late night parties and their lifestyle was very open," she had said.
