House debates India's 2012 participation

Several members of the opposition party BJP asked the government on Monday to make its stand clear whether Indian players will participate in the forthcoming London Olympics if Dow Chemicals, linked with the Bhopal gas tragedy, is a sponsor.

Several members of the opposition party BJP asked the government on Monday to make its stand clear whether Indian players will participate in the forthcoming London Olympics if Dow Chemicals, linked with the Bhopal gas tragedy, is a sponsor. Raising the matter during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Maya Singh (BJP) urged all members to support her in pressurising the government not to let Indian players participate in the Olympics.

Won't boycott Olympics: IOA
The Indian Olympic Association indicated that they would not boycott the 2012 London Olympics but added it would let the International Olympic Council (IOC) know about the strong protests from sections of Indian people.
