Sources said the secretary will see whether parking slots have been made by the builders or not and whether norms for providing open space have been adhered to. Another important area of inspection includes encroachment on government/public land by builders.
Commissioner Allahabad division, ADA V-C, DM, SSP and senior PWD officials would accompany the secretary on the inspection round. If insiders are to be believed, Meena's itinerary has been fixed by the ADA officials in such a way that he spends his entire time in the Civil Lines area. This has reportedly been done deliberately to stop him from going to Zone II and III which are full of irregularities and where builders in connivance with some ADA officials have carried out construction activity according to their whims.
Zone II begins from the west of SP Marg in Civil Lines and extends up to Sulemsarai and Bamrauli while Zone III encompasses George Town, Tagore Town, Mumfordganj, Teliarganj, Civil Lines, Katra , Alopi Bagh, University area, Ashok Nagar, Muir Road,Stanley Road till Hanuman temple in Civil Lines.According to sources, the commissioner had recently ordered sealing of seven illegal buildings that either came under the category of commercial complexes, or group housing schemes, but none of them were sealed. The buildings, however, have been shown on papers as sealed. Two of these unauthorized buildings exist in George Town, three at TB Sapru Road in Civil Lines, two in Mumfordganj and one in front of the commissioner's office.
