Amar Singh was speaking at Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communications (SIMC) in Pune, where he shared stage with the actor. The coming together of the two hold significance amid reports of rift between former Samajwadi Party leader and the Bachchan family.

Earlier on Sunday, Amar Singh had taken a dig at Jaya Bachchan, who had said in a press meet that she missed him, saying he too misses her as she did not support him when he was expelled from the party.

"Jaya bhabhi (sister-in-law) said she is in SP and Amar Singh brought her to the party. She said that his politics was my politics. Now, he is not there, I miss him very much," Amar Singh said in New Delhi. "Listen, Jayaji, I don't know where you are. I want to tell you that your brother-in-law was insulted. SP general secretary Mohan Singh said that Jaya Bachchan is just a showpiece and all film actors are just actors," he said.

Jaya had also said that she would think about whether to join him in any of his future political venture only after her term is over. Her term in the Upper House of Parliament will come to an end in July.
