My favourite question has to be ‘what is 1857’. I love the response to that one. I love the fact that funny options were provided for indecisive suckers. What I love even more is that the fish didn’t bite. The nuances appeal. They really do! Laugh out loud. Or let me smirk at least.

I think the multiple choice given for that question was the cleverest of the lot. Quick sequential run through — option a) the name of a new lounge bar — it could so well be the name of a lounge bar.

After all, doesn’t one in a posh-ish place in Janpath go by the name of a nineteen something?

b) The name of a so-so film — cute. You know, like, with the deluge of all these pseudo, unbearable, maddeningly melodramatic movies that were the rage a while back.

c) The cell phone number thing is pretty plausible as well. Mine’s a 6020. See what I mean.

And d) the calorie-nutrition one was pretty cool. Funny also. I’m actually a little surprised that more weight-obsessed people didn’t trip on it. Little disappointed too. Would’ve been quite a riot. We’re sadists here at Sunday HT — we, by the way, brought out this supplement — and we luhrve cracking up at the follies of the average Joe.

Oh, also — in full defensive mode, I’d like to slap the 20 per cent who think India will never be a superpower. Such negativity, such cynicism, tut tut— not good. In all seriousness, I side with the 47 per cent who think that all it takes is a better educational system. My narcissistic response, to which is, that now I’m going to have to go into the teaching line. Jai Hind, I say.
