Aussie actor Hugh Jackman was recently booed by film fans at a midnight show of his new film X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the US.

The actor decided to go to a city cinema and surprise the audience just before the film started.

"We ran the trailers as normal and then all of a sudden the lights went up and they were like, Boo,” Contactmusic quoted Jackman as saying.

"I said, ''Sorry, there''s been a technical problem...'' and they're like, Wolverine!'" he added.

And booing was then replaced by cheering.
