A senior leader of the moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference was taken into preventive custody after he took out an anti-election rally in Anantnag district on Friday.
Zaffar Akbar Bhat, a member of the group's general council and chairman of Salvation Movement, was detained by a police party at Anantnag district town, 55 kms from Srinagar, while he was leading an anti-election rally, official sources said.

Anantnag constituency is going to polls in the third phase on April 30.
Hurriyat Conference had on Thursday called for boycott of elections and announced its decision to launch anti-election campaign.
