The 63-year-old Oscar winner who is also the mother of actress Kate Hudson, had first come to the country 36 years ago to get 'diksha' (first lesson) in Hinduism from Guru Devkinandan Shastri and is here to pay tribute to her religious mentor who passed away last year.

"I am fascinated by India and it's culture and colours. This is my seventh visit to the holy city and the main purpose of the visit was to pay homage to my late guru, who imparted me lessons in astrology and spirituality," Hawn told PTI in an interview.

Gokul Sharma, the son of Devkinandan Shastri told PTI that Hawn has been visiting his father over the years to consult him about life and the future.

The actress who is reportedly planning a film on the holy city however refused to answer any questions about the project.
