“EC has given me no notice or letter till now. I have not received any communication so far.I don’t know if it comes later”, Gogoi told reporters in Guwahati.

Gogoi had recently at a press meet “acknowledged that he had gone to collect money from the tea industry for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections asserting all parties take money for polls.”

The opposition BJP and AGP in a complaint to Election Commissioner Navin Chawla during his visit in Guwahati this week had submitted a CD of the chief minister’s “acknowledgement” of taking money from the tea lobby.

The two parties had complained that Gogoi had violated the model code of conduct by misusing his power of chief minister to collect money for the Congress party in Kolkata.
