Even for someone as optimistic as Shah Rukh Khan, three consecutive IPL losses must be a downer. But the co-owner of Kolkatta’s Knight Riders is unperturbed.

After the defeat against Mumbai Indians, the superstar asserted without a touch of gloom, “My role is to bring joy.Winning and losing are part of the game. I’ve experienced a lot of ups and downs in my career too. All I want is for my boys to be happy.”

For my kids
On a high after the unveiling of his statue at the Grévin Wax Museum in Paris recently, Khan points out tongue-in-cheek that Jackie Chan’s statue is there too.

“The only reason my kids like me now is because I have a statue next to the ones of Jackie Chan and Gandhiji,” he laughs. Clearly Khan has plenty on his plate at the moment with the IPL, his constant travels and Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain on Star Plus. Have films taken a backseat?

“Not at all. I’ve just completed shooting for Billoo Barber that’s being made for my production house Red Chillies Entertainment. I have a small part in it, Irrfan (Khan) plays the lead. We’ll wrap up the film by May 15. There will just be a song left which I’ll shoot in August,” he states.

Will the song be an item number? “For me, an item number has to be relevant to the script. I have to be convinced that there’s a reason behind it though sometimes I agree to one to oblige friends,” he smiles.
