Veteran musician Sir Elton John insists the reason his relationship with partner David Furnish is so successful, is because he has overcome his overpowering attitude.
The Rocket Man claims before he met Furnish, he would purposely get into romantic relationships where he could dominate the other person.
"I took hostages and prisoners and expected them to adapt to my lifestyle. This relationship is a very fifty-fifty. That's the mistake I made in my past relationships"
"David had a job when I met him, most other people didn't and his own place and his own car. He had an opinion. I've never had that in my life before, because I wouldn't let people do it,” he was quoted by Ratethemusic, as saying.
"I've done a lot of work on myself. I'm 16 years sober. I don't run away and I don't take drugs. I deal with the situation and I have a partner in my life who is great and helps me to do that," he added.
