The Education Department would take help from the Indian Air Force (IAF) to make students aware of various the career options available in the armed forces, particularly the IAF. The IAF will coordinate the programme. According to officials, the initiative will give government school students an idea of the different oppurtuntities available after the Boards.

The IAF officials made a presentation in this regard to the Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely on Thursday.

The minister said that the programme would be started first in the Sarvodaya Schools. The other schools will be covered in the later phases.

“Most government school students are not aware of the various career options available to them unlike their counterparts in public schools. Apart from imparting education, we would like these students to know the options and avail the opportunities offered,” Lovely told the Hindustan Times. Wing Commander Ashim Kapoor, Joint Director of the Publicity Cell of the IAF, said “This is a social responsibility that we at the IAF are undertaking by presenting IAF as a sensible career choice among the Indian youth.”
