The ICC on Tuesday denied reports that the BCCI had negotiated a reduction in the cost of a fourth venue for this year's ICC Champions Trophy from $one million to $200,000.
The world body said the larger figure was arrived at on the basis of an itinerary requested by the Indian Cricket Board that would have meant the hire of an extra broadcasting unit to provide television coverage.
However, that cost was reduced to approximately $200,000 when the ICC, taking into account BCCI wishes, revised the schedule and removed the need for that extra unit.
The BCCI accepted that proposal and so any suggestion that it was the BCCI that scaled down the amount it would have to pay is incorrect, ICC said in a press release.
The ICC's Executive Board agreed to BCCI's request to increase the number of venues used for the tournament from three to four on the basis that the host body would cover the cost of that fourth venue.

{{/usCountry}}"The charges have been scaled down considerably from the earlier one million to less than 200,000 US dollars to be given to the ICC," he had said after a meeting of the BCCI Working Committee in Mumbai.
Matches of the premier one-day tournament will be held at four centres — Cricket Club of India in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Mohali.
