THE GHOST of the Inter-Corporate Deposit (ICD) scam has returned to haunt the State bureaucracy with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today ordering the removal of a senior IAS officer.

He also affirmed to move the Supreme Court against the High Court order quashing the FIR lodged against IAS officer S R Mohanty.

Chouhan told newspersons today that General Administration Department (GAD) Principal Secretary Abha Asthana and Deputy Secretary Subhash Daphane have been removed from their posts for submitting an affidavit in the High Court, giving Mohanty a clean chit without consulting the Chief Minister.

Talking to newspersons in Sagar, the Chief Minister also said the way loans had been given under the Inter-Corporate Deposit Scheme was dubious. He promised to take stern action against guilty officers involved in the scam. It is probably happening for the first time that the State Government is moving the apex court against its own affidavit.
