Addressing a press conference after the Board meeting here today, IDA Chairman Madhu Verma and CEO CB Singh said that several decisions were taken at the Board meeting held at the IDA office. One of the major decisions taken was to start scheme number 119 at Rau which was earlier cancelled due to pressures from various quarters.

The IDA has changed the scheme number from 119 to 165. The scheme will be spread over an area of around 400 hectare of land near Rau. The affected landowners will be given 20 per cent developed land as per State Housing Policy.

The IDA Board also gave sanction for developing a big shopping complex at the IDA’s 8-acre land near Sayaji Hotel. A national level tender will soon be floated for the project on BOT basis. The Board also decided to begin scheme number 133 which was earlier dropped by the IDA.

The IDA will write a letter to the State Government for allowing the owners of land in press complex to convert their land into commercial one by paying taxes which was applicable when the land was allotted in the 1980s, Verma said.
