She's the dark, brooding mysterious woman - a gothic fantasy, if you will. He is the happy-go-lucky 'darzi' from Bihar who likes playing with colours. But to him, she is the ultimate fantasy.

Shahzad Kalim hopes to dress Angelina Jolie during his 6-month stint with fashion goddess Donatella Versace, which came as a result of him winning the Lakme Fashion House competition.
"Although she mostly wears just black and white, Angelina Jolie has the attitude to carry off my crazy colourful clothing," Kalim said. "She is so gutsy, independent and sexy - I would love to dress her," he said.
So will he make an exception for the 'sexiest woman alive' and leave his colour palette behind? "No way, I want to dress her in bright colours. With a strong Indian influence - maybe Indian fabrics and motifs but with Western silhouettes," he said.
Back home, it's the sophisticated Sushmita Sen who would be his ideal ambassadress. "She is so bold and independent - I'd cover her up but reveal a little in the right places - maybe a line cut out somewhere interesting," he smiles.
Kalim believes that the more skin you show, the less mystery there is. "There is no fun if clothes reveal all, there should be an element of mystery and that's the kind of clothes I design," he said.
Although he has just designed one quick but highly creative collection for LIFW, Kalim hopes to set up shop in Delhi once he gets back from Milan.
At Milan, Kalim will be a part of the creative team assisting Donatella Versace. "I'll be making a couple of small collections for her and will assist her for the Milan Fashion Week and perhaps even dress some of her clients," he said.
Shahzad's in luck, his ideal woman Jolie is definitely one of Versace's preferred clients. In fact, she even wore a black gothic gown by the designer for the 72nd Annual Academy Awards in 2000.
Who knows, maybe next year it will be a funky Bollwood-meets-Hollywood creation by our very own Bihari babu!
