According to the institute authorities Rohit Suhas Joshi, a student went home during winter vacation on December 3, 2005. He left his home for the institute on December 24 with one of his friends.

According to his friend at Nasik Railway Station, he went to attend the nature’s call and did not return. He informed the parents of the boy.

Despite a hectic search the boy could not be found. Only on December 24, he suddenly appeared in his home. Parents asked about the reason of his disappearance, but the boy reportedly did not tell them.

However, the parents of the boy communicated the IIT-K authorities that all of a sudden the mind of the boy changed and he left for becoming sadhu. For about a week, he visited several prominent temples and then returned home.

The boy is likely to come to IIT by January 9 to attend the course.

Senior professors at the institute smell something fishy. They apprehend that he was kidnapped for ransom, which his parents did not want to disclose. In any case, the boy has to be put under additional security to avoid any mishap.
