INDIAN INSTITUTE of Technology, Kharagpur – one of the premier technology institutes in country – is soliciting maximum participation from Bhopal for its annual techno-management event ‘Kshitij’ – to be held from February 1 to 4.
A two-member team of the IIT Kharagpur is in city from the last one week visiting the engineering and management colleges and making presentations about the upcoming national-level event, inviting the students to participate as college teams or in individual capacity.
The team of Aniruddha Sharma and Aashish Nawal have already visited more than a dozen of City colleges and made presentations.
The duo said that last year there was a considerable representation of Bhopal at the annual fest and this year the organisers are expecting the participation to go in three figures. They said that the response from the City students is quite encouraging.
The students have already visited the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), LNCT, NRI, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bansal Institute, University Institute of Technology of Barkatullah University, Technocrats Institute of Technology, Sagar Institute of Research and Technology, Shree Institute of Technology, All Saints College of Technology and others.
‘Kshitij 2007’ is a high-profile event with guest lectures by eminent personalities including Nobel prize winner Dr Paul Crutzen, Alyque Padamsee, Dr K Kasturirangan, astronaut Rakesh Sharma, Sir Harold Kroto and Prof Kevin Warwick. There would number of workshops and exhibitions including that on cyber laws and six-sigma and number of competitions in various fields. The total prize money would be worth Rs 20 lakh.
