Improve condition of roads, Jammu MP to GREF

Member of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma on Thursday reviewed road and bridge connectivity of his constituency i.e. Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts with General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) chief engineer Brig UC Mehta and other commanders here on Thursday at Kunjwani.

Member of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma on Thursday reviewed road and bridge connectivity of his constituency i.e. Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts with General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) chief engineer Brig UC Mehta and other commanders here on Thursday at Kunjwani.

The MP brought to the notice of chief engineer and commanders the roads and bridges that require immediate attention, like Akhnoor-Jourian road, four-laning of Jammu-Akhnoor, Nowshera to Rajouri, Rajouri to Bufliaz via Thannamandi, Bufliaz to Surankote, Vijaypur to Ramgarh, RS Pura to Suchetgarh, Mallah to Jogwan, bridges at Battal, Third bridge at Akhnoor, etc.

The MP asked the officers to expedite works on roads and bridges under the GREF on top priority. He wanted GREF people to carry out the patch works of good quality on the roads where cracks and pits are developed.
He told the GREF team that in some areas shopkeepers and the people residing on the sides of roads were facing major problem of waterlogging. The MP also asked the chief engineer to provide employment opportunities to the locals by engaging them as labours from nearby vicinities.
