Commuting through waterlogged roads that have become cesspools has become a daily affair for Sector 41 residents. The posh locality on NH-8 --which houses many upscale condominiums such as South City 1 and Uniworld -- does not have even a single road in good shape.
According to residents, their repeated complaints have failed to make any impact. RWA representatives had approached the administration many times earlier.
It’s all mud and slime that welcome the visitors. Though the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has planned to carry out repair works, the project is yet to start.
“Stones meant for carpeting of roads are lying all over the place. Motorists have a tough task negotiating cesspools. I don’t know how many times we have given representation to senior officials but they seem to be least bothered,” said Narender Chhillar, a resident and a Congress leader.
Residents complain that blocked sewage line turn these roads into a swimming pool for pigs as there is not check on stray animals in the colony.
Residents have to rely on their own power back-up system as outages have become order of the day. The only park in the sector lie in ruins, thanks to poor maintenance. This has made the life miserable for elderly and children alike.

{{/usCountry}}“We are compelled to stay indoors as the road is only made up of stones and walking on it could be risky for the people of our age. Again there is no park where we could stay and relax in the evening,” said Maya Devi, a senior citizen.
The authority, however, claims that it has been addressing the problems of the residents on a regular basis.
“We attend sewage problems regularly. We are about to start the project of road carpeting soon,” said SK Kwatra, sub-divisional officer, Huda.
