"It is good to win these close matches. It is nice to return the compliments to the West Indies. We had lost a few tight games to them and we are now winning them," Dravid said after India's win which gave them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

Dravid praised Dinesh Karthick for his knock which helped the Indians recover from 90-7 and post a defendable 189.

"It was a competitive score and Dinesh Karthick played a special innings. Our spinners performed well. They bowled in right areas. Our catching was also good. It is a team effort."

Losing captain Chris Gayle said Karthick's innings came at a very cruciual time. "He played well in a crucial time. The spinners did a good job for India."

Gayle, who was standing in for the injured Brian Lara, said the slow Barabati track did not help his flamboyant strokemakers.

"We could have accelerated a bit but the wicket was a diffucult one."

Karthick said he wanted to sustain his good form with the bat. "I am carrying my form from South Africa. I want to be consistent in the closing stages and win more games for India," he said.
