India does not expect an exodus of its nationals working in Dubai in the wake of the debt crisis in the Gulf country, Overseas Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi today said.
Speaking to reporters here, Ravi said there was "nothing" to "worry" for India about the fall out of the Dubai financial crisis.
"During the beginning of meltdown there was some impact in Dubai at that time. Even I announced this in Parliament. As per a rough estimate, about a lakh of workers have returned from Dubai. But, many of them have gone back," he said.
"We are not expecting any kind of Indian workers exodus to India. I have got feedback from the Dubai Consul General Office and from the Embassy that there is nothing to worry",he said.
Ravi said the number of people going to the Gulf was "more" this year, as compared to last year.
He expressed hope that the Indian workers would remain in Dubai and their interests would be protected.
On the comprehensive relief package to rehabilitate overseas Indian workers, who have returned following job losses due to the meltdown, he said it would be launched during the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas in Delhi next year.

{{/usCountry}}The PBD provides a platform to Persons of Indian Origin and NRIs to exchange views on matters of common interest.
"All modalities are being worked out for launching the Return and Resettlement Fund," he said, adding, workers' views on the package would also be taken into account.
To a query, he said the package would be funded by his Ministry and workers. The Fund would provide reasonable level of financial security to the overseas returnees.
