India's oil import growth could accelerate in December and January, after rising a provisional 2.3% in November, trade secretary Rahul Khullar said on Wednesday.

Rapid expansion in Asia's third-largest economy will see rising demand for fuel.

India's economy could grow over 9% in the current fiscal year to March 2011, after expanding 8.9% in the September quarter, the finance ministry said on Tuesday.
