The testing was done at a military base in Orissa, military sources said.

The Lakhya drone, an unmanned aerial vehicle, was sent aloft from the integrated test range of Chandipur in Balasore district at about 11.30 am.

Minutes later the unnamed missile, with a 10-km range, was fired.

A similar exercise was carried out from the same test range on Thursday.
