India to highlight Ayurveda's value in UK

A team of Indian experts will project the scientific value of Ayurveda before the European Medicines Agency in London on May 15.

The experts will give a presentation on the potential role of Ayurveda in the healthcare system, an official statement said on Friday.

The presentation is being done under the aegis of the India-European Union Joint Working Group on Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology.

Shiv Basant, joint secretary in the department of Ayush, is heading the delegation.

The Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathy is also organising an exposition of Indian medicines during the World Health Assembly in Geneva May 24-26.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Anbumani Ramadoss will inaugurate the exposition.
